Young • Broke • Charming • All-Around Prospect

Dunny is a young gelding we had the absolute pleasure of starting ourselves — from groundwork and desensitization to first rides and trailer-outs. This colt has been nothing but willing, reliable, and a total sweetheart to handle. He’s the kind of horse that makes you fall in love with starting colts all over again.

Dunny is the first to greet you at the gate, loves his people (and treats), and gets along with every horse in the herd. His happy-go-lucky attitude and puppy-dog personality make him easy to bond with and even easier to train. He’s been hauled all around, and his calm, collected demeanor makes him a standout.

We’ve ridden Dunny straight through downtown Fort Collins, leading the group without hesitation — he takes chaos in stride. He’s unfazed by traffic, strollers, bikes, runners, and barking dogs. Out on the trail, he’s surefooted, confident, and steady through long rides and rough terrain.

In the arena, Dunny is well ahead for his age. He has a smooth walk, jog, and lope, responds off voice and seat cues, and is developing beautiful collection. He’s showing real promise in lateral work and flexions and has the beginnings of a nice western pleasure and reining foundation.

Dunny is also learning groundwork tricks — side-passing to and away from you, spinning, and responding to hand and voice signals. He’s handled tarps, flags, obstacles, and has the brain and try to go in any direction you choose.

He leads, loads, ties, bathes, and is great for both the vet and farrier. This gelding is special to us and has been a barn favorite since day one. We’re so proud of his progress and excited to help him find the perfect forever home.
